Ramada Residences by Wyndham Bozbük

Nestled along the sheltered shores of Bozbük Bay in Milas, Ramada Residences by Wyndham Bozbuk offers something rare on this coastline: a full resort built around spacious self-catering apartments and villas rather than standard hotel rooms. Long known to British holidaymakers as the Apollonium Club La Costa Spa & Beach Resort, the property joined the Wyndham family after Club La Costa withdrew from Turkey in early 2024 — so if you have stayed here "in the CLC days", this is the same beloved bay under a new flag.

What the booking sites say

We compared the resort's profile across the major platforms so you don't have to. On Tripadvisor it holds a strong 4.3 / 5 from 781 reviews, with well over half rating it "Excellent". Booking-platform data shows a more modest 7.4 / 10, where staff (8.2) is the standout score and cleanliness trails slightly (7.1) — a pattern echoed in written reviews: warm, flexible staff on one hand, occasional maintenance niggles in individual apartments on the other. UK package seller On the Beach lists the resort as a 4-star self-catering property with deposits from £19pp, pitching it as "a luxurious self-catering experience in a quiet and scenic environment" — which matches what guests actually describe: peace, space and sea, rather than glitz.

Rooms: what to book

Units range from two-bedroom apartments (75 m², sleeps 6) to three-bedroom apartments and villas (90 m², sleeps 8) — every one with a proper kitchen, washing machine and balcony or terrace. Guests consistently call the units "very big and suitable for a family of 4". Our advice: sea-view units over the bay are the ones worth requesting at booking, and light sleepers should note that some guests report thin walls between neighbouring apartments — a detached villa row is the safer pick if silence is your priority.

Food, breakfast and that water tip

This is a self-catering resort first: the on-site restaurant offers an optional continental breakfast and cooked meals that guests find tasty but limited in range, and priced above the village restaurants. The on-site mini-market is convenient but expensive — stock up in Akbük. One practical warning that appears again and again in reviews: the tap water is very salty, so budget for bottled water for drinking and cooking.

Pools, spa and the beach

The headline numbers are generous: 8 swimming pools (heated options available), waterslides, a private beach area with loungers, tennis, mini golf, a kids' club and evening entertainment in season. The spa with Turkish bath and sauna is on site but charged separately, and some guests find it dated. Note the seasonal rhythm of a residence resort: pools and the bar close roughly November to April — this is a May-to-October destination.

Location and getting there

Let's be honest, because the reviews are: Bozbük is remote, and that is the whole point. Akbük centre is 5.8 km away, Milas–Bodrum Airport is ~52 km (about an hour's transfer), and Bodrum town is a proper day-trip. Guests report taxis at meaningful cost (one quoted roughly a 45-minute ride back from Akbük's surroundings), while the local bus is described as punctual and well-publicised. Our tip, in one guest's words: "make sure transport is sorted before you come" — book transfers ahead or hire a car if you plan to explore.

Hidden costs to know before you book

  • 💆 Spa, hammam and sauna are extra, not included in the room rate
  • 💧 Bottled water is a real ongoing cost (salty tap water)
  • 🛒 On-site mini-market prices run high — shop in Akbük
  • 🚐 Airport shuttle/transfers are paid; taxis add up in this remote bay
  • 🧾 A few guests reported price discrepancies at check-in — bring your booking confirmation in writing

Who is it right for?

  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Families with children — the strongest match. Apartments for 6–8, kitchens, kids' club, waterslides and a calm, traffic-free site. Under-12s stay free in existing beds.
  • 💻 Remote workers / long stays — surprisingly good. Full kitchens, washing machines, free Wi-Fi and monastic quiet. Test the Wi-Fi speed in your unit on day one before committing to video calls.
  • 💍 Honeymooners — yes, with the right expectations. A serene bay and sea-view villas, but this is family-resort romance, not adults-only luxury. Book a villa away from the pool animation.
  • 💼 Business travellers — no. An hour from the airport and far from any meeting; choose a city Ramada instead.

How it compares — and which loyalty programme wins

Guests weighing up Bozbük most often cross-shop it with its sister property across the same bay, Ramada Resort by Wyndham Akbük (a classic all-inclusive hotel sold by Jet2holidays, and already reviewed on this blog): choose the Resort for a cook-free all-inclusive week, choose the Residences for space, kitchens and longer stays. Chain-loyal travellers also compare the wider Bodrum area's big-brand alternative, DoubleTree by Hilton Bodrum Işıl Club.

The loyalty question: for this hotel, Wyndham Rewards is the practical winner. It earns 10 points per US dollar with a 1,000-point minimum per stay, reaches Gold status after just 5 nights, and — crucially — redeems free nights at flat rates (7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000 points), which is excellent value in August peak weeks. Hilton Honors' famous perk, free breakfast for Gold members, matters far less at a self-catering resort where you have your own kitchen. One caveat: we could not verify this specific property's free-night tier at the time of writing — check the official rooms & rates page before burning points.

Tracking this hotel over time

  • 🔧 What we're watching: whether Wyndham's flag brings investment to the dated spa and the maintenance inconsistencies guests still mention; pool/bar seasonal closures (Nov–Apr); and this property's Wyndham Rewards redemption tier
  • 🔁 We'll revisit this review as new guest feedback and prices come in
